Footmarks:
Snow..., Cafe on Broadway, Hudson River side park, Count down at Times Square!
White New Year's Eve
Maybe I was tired. I overslept and woke up at 9:30AM.
When I opened the blind, I saw just a white square. Frost? Fog?
No.
Snow!
White powders were falling down and down on the ground and trees of Central Park. I was fascinated for a while and watching that the snow changed the shape to large flakes.
As the powders gathered, the world recovered the colors... They were monotone, though.
It was so beautiful scene. I was glad, but some anxieties crossed my mind. The Count down would be OK in this weather? How about tomorrow's flight? The weather forecast said that both of them would be OK, but the snow seemed to grow in strength.
I boldly went out to get lunch in the afternoon. It was still snow, but once I started to walk, I found it was not so bad. I wore my long boots inside my trousers and socks double inside the boots. They worked really nice and cheered me up. I had lunch and headed to Hudson River.
There was a long park and a highway ran by the park.
I saw a lot of cars going by as kicking up powder snow, but the noises of them didn't reach to me.
No one except for me was there...I thought so, but there were some people living their ordinary lives. One of them was jogging. Other one was walking with his dog.
I went back to my hotel and prepared for joining the Count down.
While I was waiting for the Glass ball to fall down, times seemed much shorter. There were a lot of people gathered at Times Square, so it wasn't cold so much. Snow stopped and any of sounds echoed well in the clear air.
...3,2,1,0!! After yelling out "Zero", the people around me and of course I blew bugles loudly each other. That was so fun that I forgot the important thing.
When I took a picture with 3 friendly police officers, they said to me "Happy New Year!"
I noticed that I hadn't said the phrase yet! I said them
"Happy New Year, too!" and I walked back to my hotel.
I was so happy.
